All technical details of the Haswell generation of CPUs and the benchmarks are summarized in a dedicated article for you: We reviewed the "GT2" middle configuration called HD Graphics 4600 which will be used in all quad core CPUs of the MQ series and will focus on its graphics performance in this article. However, only the high-end Core i7-4850HQ and i7-4950HQ do use it so far. The best configuration called "GT3e" does not only feature 2.5 times the shader units of the HD 4000, but also an additional eDRAM cache which should decrease the heavy dependence from the RAM interface. With Haswell, Intel tries to take the performance gains another step forward. Performance was found to near the lower mid-level discrete solutions from AMD and Nvidia but couldn’t match the IGPs of the best AMD APUs. HD Graphics 4000 was another giant leap forward that brought the possibility of gaming. This solution was still plagued by poor support for newer graphics technologies. The introduction of HD Graphics 3000 in the Sandy Bridge architecture was a giant leap from the anemic GPUs in the pre-Arrandale period. Things have changed in the last two generations of processors. The users have been plagued by very low performance with poor driver support making it virtually impossible to play any of the newer games with acceptable graphics quality and framerates. Intel IGPs have never been considered suitable for 3D applications and games until recently. I hope There will be some useful outcome of this message. For the original German review, see here. This message is for official intel developers. One other interesting thing that even some Intel developer software for scientific computing is also supports only 6th to 10th gen CPUs!!!!!Īnd saddest part of this journey is that i cant upgrade my CPU either, because each new gen cpu has new socket and so it requires new compatible motherboard and ram too!!!!!!

So technically if it was hardware limitation then i can understand, but For Software limitation, it is hard to accept. So its not that limited to hardware either. And Support for Vulkan is there for new 6th to 10th gen only, it means its not intel's limitations.Īs per hardware specification intel iGPU is clocked at 1.2GHZ with 2GB shared Vram. What i am pointing out it is that Intel should take care of ATLEAST their high end top lineup products, because it will be useless and very sad to see unusable powerful cpu. And Its just 4.5Years i've purchased this High end TOP LINEUP Intel CPU with almost double the cost of budget in a hope that it will run longer like older core 2 due series.

Intel 4th Gen i7-4790 and i7-4790k was (and in India still) most popular for high end gaming and multimedia support. I know that its not supported, That's why i asked for the support in new release.
